We are so excited when heard about Electro Voice begin to announce the first preview of the next generation of its X-Line line array sound reinforcement system family at InfoComm event this year.
These new models mark a step forward in Electro Voice 85 year tradition of sound system innovation, offering a new range of audio components that work together to surpass the performance of other leading line arrays availables on the market – all in a significantly more compact size, flexibility, and faster set up.
Two new models will be introduced at the event year,X1 and X2. The EV X1 will be displayed at InfoComm (booth number C9708) and shout out in the EV reserved Demo Room (N109).
The new EV X1 compact line array element combines a 12 inch LF transducer with new technologies and innovative features with compact low profile design. It is designed to provoding ideal solution for wide variety of applications, including small indoor venue and medium scale houses of worship, sound rental companies, big corporate events also clubs and large entertainment venues.
Three of the new EV technologies located at the core of the X1 system like Mid-Band Hydra (MBH) feature for superb box coupling, Wavefront Shaping Circular Hydra (WCH) for extended linear HF ( high Frequency ) performance, and Integrated Rigging System for rapid system setup.
The custom SMX 12-inch woofer in the X1 unit (while DVN3125 12-inch woofer component in the X2 model) is coupled together to an EV exclusive patended Mid Band Hydra device effectively emulates the acoustical behavior of a double line of four 3 inch point source component. This means the module delivers perfect mid band coupling of the array while still maintaining the efficiency and power of a 12 inch transducer characteristic .
The HF section in the X1 unit utilized two new ND2R ring exit with 2 inch titanium diaphragm compression drivers coupled to a pair of WCH constant energy planar wave generators on a 90° optimized waveguide for high efficiency performance, uniform pattern control, smooth, extended, and linear frequency response over the bandwidth. The ring coupled ND2R and WCH circular Hydra eliminates the wave distortion, maximizing the acoustic output of the medium format compression driver with in phase summation past 16 kHz.
A unique captive twist-lock multi-angle array rigging system designed by EV to simplify the rigging process of any scale of array system, significantly reduces setup time, production costs and resources. The Integrated Rigging System has been specifically engineered with the flexibility to deploy a system using the two most common methods of line array set up, fixed angles locked using secondary rigging pins which is included and compression method by using a pull up kit that sold separately.
The new X2 line array system provides high level of SPL capability, extended HF ( High Frequency )response, and linear LF ( Low Frequency ) output for more powerful performance than any of extreme compact cabinet available on the market. The X2 model delivers the proper SPL, bandwidth, and coverage needed for applications like large houses of worship, concert venue and tour sound events, outdoor venues, indoor theaters and large performing arts venues.
While the Mid Band Hydra (MBH) and Integrated Rigging System is featured in the X1 model, the X2 system features another two new EV technologies, the DVN3125 12 inch transducer with neodymium magnet LF woofer and Advanced High Frequency Hydra for controlled linear HF performance
And for low frequencies section, the new, high sensitivity DVN3125 sub bass woofer in the X2 was specifically developed using Finite Element Analysis to optimize the motor, suspension design , and electrical parts for very low distortion sound reproduction while maintaning high efficiency, and maximum intelligibility at highest SPL operation. The woofer is also coupled to a Mid-Band Hydra (MBH) device.
To satisfy the most challenging demand from the various applications, the HF section of the X2 matches with two unit of ND6A 3 inch high output titanium compression drivers into a pair of Advanced High-Frequency Hydra constant energy planar wave generators fixed on a 90° optimized waveguide hardware.
The unique Advanced High-Frequency Hydra provides full control of the sound wave, eliminating audio distortion with in phase summation up to 20 kHz. All line array elements module seamlessly summed together to deliver consistent pattern control of frequency bandwidht and with smooth, extended, linear response for any array setup configuration.
