Annual pro audio event InfoComm 2014 in Las Vegas will witnessing the official debut for new L-Acoustic K2 vertical line array system featuring PANFLEX with its horizontal steering technology for North American region at booth number C11908.
Plots to be the successor of the previously L-Acoustic V-DOSC, K2 line array system offers an identical K1 performance in a reformed physical package that makes it suit well for both application like permanent installation and touring jobs, from indoor theatre venue to outdoor stadium environment. The full scales primary system components consist of :
- L -Acoustic K2 full-range module with PANFLEX horizontal steering technology , providing optimal operating frequency response from 35 Hz to 20 kHz
- L -Acoustic K1-SB low frequency cabinet reinforcing Low Frequency contour down under to 30 Hz or LF throw function down to 35 Hz
- L -Acoustic SB28 sub bass frequency element extend the operating frequency audio bandwidth down to 25 Hz
- LA4X / LA8 amplifier controllers or LA-RAK touring rack loaded with three unit of LA8
The K2 also equiped with L-Acoustics patended Wavefront Sculpture Technology (WST) high frequency controller . The angles from WST section can be manually set accurately up to 10 degrees, allowing the soundman to optimize the vertical coverage of the speaker with SPL smoothly spread across evenly between the audience.
PANFLEX is a flagship new unique horizontal beam steering technology that combines various method of mechanical adjustable fins with DSP algorithms features that performs very efficiently from around 300 Hz. Four different default settings are provided : two symmetric mode (70 or 110 degrees) and two asymmetric mode (90 degrees as 35/55 or 55/35). The sound engineers now can happilly narrowing or widening its horizontal directivity capability so it can serve many purposes like adapt to the width of the specific listening location, to fit between long and short distance coverage, reducing or even extending overlap areas, and avoid reflecting surfaces.
By combining this two flagship technologies WST and PANFLEX exclusively from L-Acoustic, K2 now have the capability to control the directivity of sound in both vertical and horizontal planes. As an example result, this unique system can match the complex shape of any area geometry with outstanding sonic quality and minimal noise pollution.
With philosophy of a three way with quad amplified design, all of the L-Acoustic K2 cabinet designed to flexibly deployed as a standalone point source or in arrayed configuration. For more specific applications that demanding additional Low Frequency impact often to called with contour mode, or maximized LF projection or throw mode like in club area or dj performance, K2 can be configured together with his flyable brother K1-SB LF sub bass extension cabinet. The K2 system is show its maximum potential when work together with the SB28 subwoofer.
Virtually ,the system configurations can be calculated acoustically and mechanically with the groundbreaking SOUNDVISION 3D simulation software.
For specific touring applications needs, K2 can be associated with the LA-RAK system, an all in one distribution solution platform for power, audio signals processing and networking ,all of this made K2 very ideal for rental companies. LA-RAK loaded with three units of amplifier controller LA8 and can be flown onto a K2 array arrangement. Other applications also can use LA8 amplifier controllers depends to the demand.
For permanent installation projects, K2 can also work with the LA4X amplifier controller unit. The default scheme is enough to gives you full authorization of discrete DSP treatment per section and maximum power headroom for the best potential sonic performance out of the system.
Comes with its dedicated factory built in presets, the LA8/LA4X amplifier controller providing a complete solution for both powering and processing capability.
Up to total 253 unit LA8/LA4X amplifier controllers can be sync together via the innovative Ethernet-based L-NET protocol. L-Acoustic Network Manager software is provided to allows online remote control and monitoring function of all connected units via an intuitive graphic user interface. The Line Array Morphing EQ tool allows sound engineers to quickly adjust the tonal balance of the whole system to reach a desired curve or to ensure linearity of the sonic signature.
